Children Health – acupuncture for children
Two years ago, the Boston Children's Hospital started a treatment program for children with migraine. At the end of the program, 70 percent of children with acupuncture treatments said their migraine intensity decreased.
When parents were asked to confirm, 55 percent agreed that their children really enjoyed the benefits of acupuncture treatments. Only one of the children involved in the study said their symptoms were worsening during acupuncture.
Another study, conducted at the Boston Children's Hospital, focused on acupuncture treatment between 6 months and 18 months of age. These children suffered headache, back pain, stomach problems, and other common childhood complaints. At the beginning of the study, the patients ranked the pain from eight to ten. At the end of the year, the average pain reduction fell to three. Children also sleep better and go to school more often.
Acupuncture, an ancient Chinese practice where very fine needles are placed in the skin of the patients to restore Qi (energy) and ultimately help relieve pain and treat illness, is common among the Singaporean adults. But is it suitable for children?
Acupuncture and Child
According to Huaxia Acupuncture and Chinese Medical Center and 2M Chinese physician, yes. Both centers say that acupuncture can be performed in children such as infants, as long as they are able to pinch the needles. It is generally recommended for the younger generation before needle injection.
Acupuncture can be used to treat childhood illnesses such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Eczema, Asthma, Depression and Stomach Disorders. You can also use bedowetting. Depending on the circumstances, the treatment (frequency, dose, strength) may be different. Conditions such as simple diarrhea or fever can be treated with a possible two treatments while eating disorders may require up to 10 full sessions. If more than 10 sections are needed, a break between the seats should be given and then reset to the treatments. Children's meetings in both centers usually last 30-45 minutes.
If you really decide to try acupuncture for your baby, make sure you have to go to a licensed acupuncturist. There are requirements and training that must be met in order for the acupuncturist to have permission. The easiest way is to consult GP or Pead for the first time.
